Frequently asked questions

What kind of commitment is required to volunteer?

We expect that a volunteer will at least commit for a period of a year, and be active during that time whether fulfilling dreams, assisting with group activities, fundraising initiatives or helping out in the office. You will also be required to attend 80% of the monthly volunteer meetings held once a month. Most dreams take place during the week from Monday to Friday.

Do I need any special skills or qualifications to volunteer?

You need to be over the age of 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

How are volunteers matched with activities or events?

Volunteers will be on a 3-month probationary period. During this time, you will get the opportunity to be involved in various aspects of the work we do. We find volunteers naturally gravitate towards an area they feel most comfortable.

Corporate volunteering

Our corporate volunteering programme offers a unique opportunity for your team to spend a half-day or full day with children in hospitals. Hosted in one of our Dream Rooms, your team can read heartwarming stories, engage in exciting games, or facilitate arts and crafts activities, providing these children with much-needed distraction and a sense of normalcy.

As you and your team unite to make a difference, you’ll find yourselves forming deeper connections, strengthening your bonds, and gaining a renewed sense of purpose. The smiles you put on these children’s faces will be reflected in your own.
